Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Petroleum Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. This role will involve working on challenging and diverse projects within the upstream and midstream energy sectors, supporting our global client base. The successful candidate will apply their expertise in reservoir engineering, production optimization, and field development to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to all phases of project lifecycle, from conceptual studies to detailed design and operational support, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive reservoir engineering studies, including material balance calculations, decline curve analysis, and numerical reservoir simulations.
- Perform production forecasting and economic evaluation for oil and gas assets.
- Develop and optimize well completion designs and artificial lift systems to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.
- Analyze well performance data, identify production anomalies, and propose corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development of integrated field development plans and strategies.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with geologists, geophysicists, and other engineers in integrated subsurface teams.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in petroleum engineering.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in petroleum engineering, preferably with an E&P operator or engineering consultancy.
- Proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, CMG).
- Strong understanding of production optimization techniques, well interventions, and artificial lift systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer status.
- Experience with unconventional resources (e.g., shale, tight gas) or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects.
- Familiarity with economic evaluation software and project management principles.
