Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofing Specialist to join our dynamic team in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional looking to contribute to significant construction projects. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in various roofing systems and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, or replace various roofing systems, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, and shingles.
- Inspect roof surfaces and structures to determine the extent of damage or wear.
- Prepare and clean roof surfaces prior to the application of roofing materials.
- Measure, cut, and fit roofing materials, such as asphalt shingles, metal panels, or membranes.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members when required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in roofing installation and repair.
- Proficiency in working with various roofing materials and systems (e.g., asphalt, metal, EPDM, TPO).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in roofing.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to work at heights.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman certification in roofing or equivalent trade qualification.
- Experience with commercial and industrial roofing projects.
- Familiarity with local building codes in Saskatchewan.
- First Aid and WHMIS certifications.
