Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Mathematics Teacher to join our dynamic team in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive mathematics instruction to high school students, preparing them for future academic and professional success. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the provincial curriculum for high school mathematics.
- Deliver instruction in various mathematical subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and Statistics.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of academic performance.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student learning and well-being.
- Participate in school-wide activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Utilize diverse teaching strategies and technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Prepare students for provincial examinations and post-secondary education.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license for Quebec or eligibility to obtain one.
- Fluency in French (oral and written) is essential, as this is a French-speaking school board.
- Demonstrated knowledge of high school mathematics curriculum and instructional best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or Mathematics.
- Previous experience teaching high school mathematics.
- Experience with integrating technology into mathematics instruction.
- Familiarity with the Quebec Education Program (QEP).
