Job Description
Marriott International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resort Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our premier resort in Bend, Oregon. This vital role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and team leadership across various departments, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality management, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating memorable experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily resort operations across all departments, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, service levels, and operational procedures to maintain exceptional guest experiences.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate department heads and staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and address feedback promptly and effectively, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve profitability.
- Manage departmental budgets, payroll, and inventory control, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests and associates, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and revenue management teams to achieve business objectives and maximize resort occupancy.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in hotel or resort operations management (minimum 4 years).
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a focus on staff development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in hospitality management software (e.g., Opera PMS, Micros POS).
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial performance, and operational KPIs.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by resort operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in hospitality management (e.g., Certified Hotel Administrator – CHA, Certified Hospitality Sales Professional – CHSP).
- Experience managing multiple departments concurrently within a large-scale resort setting.
- Familiarity with the Bend, Oregon local market, tourism industry trends, and local vendor relationships.
