Job Description
Join the enthusiastic team at Westerner Park as an Event Steward / Usher! This entry-level, part-time position is perfect for individuals looking for flexible weekend work and a chance to be part of exciting events. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to ensure you are confident and prepared to assist our guests. You’ll be the friendly face of Westerner Park, ensuring visitors have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience at our diverse range of events.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and direct guests to their seating areas or desired locations within the venue.
- Provide accurate information regarding event schedules, facilities, and services.
- Monitor designated areas for guest safety and comfort, identifying and reporting any issues.
- Assist guests with accessibility needs or special requests.
- Manage crowd flow and ensure compliance with venue policies and procedures.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve minor issues with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Support emergency evacuation procedures if necessary, following established protocols.
- Work collaboratively with other event staff and security personnel.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, friendly, and approachable attitude.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various event environments.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is an asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification (training can be provided).
