Job Description
Are you a meticulous individual with a passion for music, eager to learn a unique and essential skill in the retail sector? PMT Stoke-on-Trent is looking for a dedicated Trainee Guitar Stringer to join our team. No prior experience in guitar stringing is required; we are committed to providing comprehensive, hands-on training to develop your expertise. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to start a career in music retail, focusing on the critical task of maintaining and preparing guitars for our customers. You will play a vital role in ensuring every instrument in our store is perfectly strung and ready to inspire our clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and master the art of re-stringing various types of guitars (electric, acoustic, bass) according to PMT standards.
- Perform basic instrument maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and polishing.
- Inspect guitars for wear and tear, and report any issues to senior staff.
- Assist with incoming stock, including unpacking, checking, and preparing instruments for display.
- Support the sales floor team with general store upkeep and organisation.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

- A strong willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new processes.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
