Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Shift Care Assistant to join our team in Hinckley. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a calm and quiet environment, providing essential support and care during the night. You will be instrumental in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our residents, contributing to a peaceful and respectful atmosphere. We offer a premium hourly rate in recognition of the vital work performed during night hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care, assisting residents with personal hygiene, mobility, and other daily living activities during the night.
- Conduct regular welfare checks on residents throughout the night to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Assist with repositioning residents to prevent pressure sores and ensure comfort.
- Respond promptly to call bells and provide immediate assistance as required.
- Accurately document care provided, observations, and any significant changes in residents' conditions.
- Support residents with hydration and nutrition needs, including preparing drinks and snacks.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other team members.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and relevant healthcare regulations.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable empathy and a genuine passion for caring for others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality, particularly for night shifts.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles.
- Willingness to learn and undertake training as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or working towards a relevant qualification.
- Previous experience working in a care home or similar healthcare setting.
- Experience with electronic care planning systems.
