Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Oceanography & Deep Sea Exploration Intern to join our team in Spartanburg, SC. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world projects focused on marine science, data analysis, and the logistical support of deep-sea research initiatives. The intern will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights into the multidisciplinary nature of oceanographic exploration and environmental consulting. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the collection, processing, and analysis of oceanographic data, including hydrographic, geological, and biological datasets.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications related to deep-sea environments and marine ecosystems.
  • Utilize GIS software to map and visualize marine data, creating compelling graphical representations.
  • Conduct literature reviews and research on emerging topics in oceanography, marine technology, and conservation.
  • Aid in the logistical planning and coordination for deep-sea exploration projects, including equipment inventory and permits.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on various environmental and marine-focused initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for ongoing projects.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Oceanography, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for marine environments and deep-sea exploration.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
