Job Description
Are you a friendly, outgoing individual with a passion for online communities? Steelcase is seeking an Online Community Greeter to join our growing digital team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for new members joining our forums and Discord server, ensuring they feel welcomed, supported, and quickly integrated into our community. You’ll help foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment, guiding new users through resources and encouraging their participation. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone eager to make a significant impact on our online presence and help build a vibrant, connected community around our brand and shared interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome all new members to our official forums and Discord server through personalized messages and introductions.
- Actively engage with new members, answering initial questions and guiding them to relevant resources, FAQs, and community guidelines.
- Facilitate introductions between new and existing members to encourage interaction and foster a sense of belonging.
- Monitor community channels for new member activity, proactively reaching out to offer assistance or encouragement.
- Identify and report any potential issues or conflicts to community moderators as needed.
- Gather feedback from new members on their onboarding experience to help improve our welcome processes.
- Collaborate with the broader community management team to develop and implement engaging welcome initiatives and events.
- Maintain a positive, helpful, and professional demeanor at all times within the online community.
Required Skills
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with online forum and Discord platforms (or similar community tools).
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with digital communication.
