Job Description

Are you looking for a fulfilling career where you can make a tangible impact on the environment and help homeowners save money? British Gas is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Energy Efficiency Home Auditors (Trainee). This is an entry-level position where no prior experience is required, as we provide full, comprehensive training to equip you with all the skills needed to succeed. You will travel locally in a company-provided vehicle, visiting residential properties to assess energy usage and recommend improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough energy efficiency audits in residential homes using provided equipment and tools.
  • Identify areas of energy waste, such as insulation gaps, inefficient appliances, or outdated heating systems.
  • Educate homeowners on practical steps they can take to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint.
  • Clearly explain the benefits and potential savings of recommended energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Accurately document audit findings and recommendations using company-provided software.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines during home visits.
  • Manage your daily schedule efficiently and ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with all customers.

Required Skills

  • Full UK driving license with a clean record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • An understanding of basic home mechanics or construction
