Job Description

No prior experience operating a tram is required, as we provide a comprehensive, fully paid training program that will equip you with all the skills and certifications needed to become a professional tram driver. Key Responsibilities

  • Complete a comprehensive training program to acquire the necessary skills and certifications for tram operation.
  • Safely operate trams in accordance with company policies, procedures, and transport regulations.
  • Adhere strictly to schedules and timetables, ensuring punctuality for passengers.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including clear announcements and assistance when required.
  • Conduct pre-service inspections of the tram to ensure it is safe and operational.
  • Report any operational issues, incidents, or defects promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain a high level of vigilance and awareness of surroundings, including passengers, pedestrians, and other vehicles.
  • Work collaboratively with control center staff and other team members.

Required Skills

  • A full, valid UK driving licence (Category B or equivalent) for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to work shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Be able to pass a rigorous medical examination and a comprehensive DBS check.
  • A positive attitude and a customer-focused approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas.
