Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our dynamic security team in Swansea. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security systems to protect our digital assets, infrastructure, and customer data. You will work within a collaborative environment, contributing to the development and enforcement of security policies, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain security solutions across various platforms and technologies.
  • Perform security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning to identify and remediate weaknesses.
  • Monitor security systems for threats and anomalies, responding promptly to incidents and alerts.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Conduct security awareness training for employees.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security threats, technologies, and regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in network security principles (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Strong understanding of operating system security (Windows, Linux).
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH).
  • Experience with incident response and forensic analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
