Job Description

Are you an aspiring technologist with a passion for ensuring systems run smoothly and efficiently? Join BAE Systems as a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Intern – Uptime, based at our Portsmouth site. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of SRE, learning directly from experienced engineers. You will contribute to maintaining the high availability and performance of critical systems, gaining hands-on experience with monitoring tools, incident response, and automation practices. No prior SRE experience is required; we are looking for curious minds eager to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist SRE team members in monitoring system performance and health metrics.
  • Learn and apply basic troubleshooting techniques for system issues.
  • Contribute to the documentation of SRE processes and playbooks.
  • Support the implementation of automation scripts for routine tasks.
  • Participate in incident response activities and post-mortems.
  • Shadow experienced engineers to understand complex system architectures and reliability challenges.
  • Engage in continuous learning about SRE principles, tools, and best practices.
