Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and community-focused Member Services Teller to join our team in Port Talbot. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday, providing essential financial services to our valued members. As a Member Services Teller, you will be the face of Swansea Bay Credit Union, responsible for handling daily transactions, assisting members with inquiries, and promoting our range of products and services. You will play a crucial role in maintaining strong member relationships and contributing to the financial health of our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Process member transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfers.
- Verify member identity and transaction details to prevent fraud and ensure compliance.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding account balances, services, and general credit union information.
- Assist members with opening new accounts and explaining product features.
- Balance cash drawer daily and prepare cash for deposit.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell credit union products and services that meet member needs.
- Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor with all members.
- Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient branch operation.
Required Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- A commitment to ethical practices and member confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cash handling or customer service role, preferably within a financial institution.
- Knowledge of credit union products and services.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
