Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to kickstart your career in a dynamic and essential industry? Canadian Tire is seeking motivated individuals to join our Timmins Distribution Centre as Order Pickers. No prior experience is required! We provide comprehensive, hands-on training to equip you with all the skills needed to excel in this role. You’ll be an integral part of our logistics team, responsible for accurately and efficiently picking customer orders, contributing to the smooth flow of goods, and ensuring our stores are well-stocked. This is an excellent chance to learn valuable warehouse operations skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick and prepare customer orders according to specifications using scanning equipment.
  • Operate various warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts (training provided), safely and efficiently.
  • Perform quality checks on picked items to ensure accuracy and prevent damage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the distribution centre.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials as required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily targets.

Required Skills

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a physical work environment (e.g., general labour, construction) is an asset, but not required.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations or logistics concepts is a plus, but not mandatory.
