Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Wildlife Rescue Center Laborer to join our team in West Kelowna. This rewarding, entry-level position is crucial to the daily operations of our sanctuary, focusing heavily on maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our rehabilitating animals. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough and consistent cleaning of animal enclosures, rehabilitation areas, and communal spaces following strict hygiene protocols.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring proper use and sanitation.
  • Sanitize food and water dishes, bedding, and other animal care items.
  • Manage waste disposal, including collection and proper segregation of refuse and animal waste.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, including sweeping, raking, and general upkeep of the sanctuary premises.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols related to working in an animal care environment.
  • Support the animal care team by ensuring a clean and organized environment for their specialized work.
  • Participate in facility maintenance tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or organizing storage areas.
