Job Description
Are you passionate about helping others and looking to start a rewarding career in healthcare? Methodist Health System is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Healthcare Assistants (HCAs). This is an entry-level position, and absolutely no prior experience is required! We believe in nurturing talent and will provide comprehensive, paid training to equip you with all the skills needed to succeed. As an HCA, you will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care, supporting our nursing staff, and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for those in our care. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Help patients with mobility, transferring, and ambulation.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report changes to nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe patient environment.
- Assist with patient documentation as directed by nurses.
- Respond to patient calls and requests promptly and kindly.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control policies.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong desire to help others and make a positive impact
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Empathy and compassion for patients
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience
- Experience in a volunteer role focused on helping others
