Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Unreal Engine Developer to join our growing team in Rotherham. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge features, systems, and tools for our upcoming projects, utilizing the full power of Unreal Engine. You will work closely with designers, artists, and other engineers to bring engaging interactive experiences to life, contributing to all stages of the development lifecycle from prototyping to release. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to push boundaries and contribute to visually stunning and technically robust games.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain gameplay features and core systems using Unreal Engine (C++ and Blueprints).
  • Collaborate with game designers, artists, and other programmers to integrate new features and optimize existing ones.
  • Debug, profile, and optimize code for performance and stability across target platforms.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of engine tools and pipelines.
  • Participate in code reviews, sharing knowledge and best practices with the team.
  • Help define technical specifications and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Unreal Engine features and industry trends.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in C++ programming.
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5, including Blueprints.
  • Solid understanding of game development principles, including 3D mathematics, physics, and rendering.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce).
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
  • Experience with console development (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox).
  • Familiarity with various game development tools and pipelines.
  • Experience with multiplayer networking or AI systems.
  • A portfolio demonstrating previous game development work or personal projects.
