Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Pallet Truck Operator to join our dynamic team in Preston. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods within our busy warehouse, contributing to the smooth flow of our supply chain operations. You will operate various types of pallet trucks to load, unload, stack, and retrieve products, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all health and safety guidelines. This position requires someone with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a tidy and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate electric pallet trucks (PPT) or ride-on pallet trucks (LLOP) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring goods are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Move pallets of products to designated storage areas or production lines.
- Accurately pick and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Conduct daily checks on equipment and report any faults or maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating pallet trucks (PPT/LLOP) or willingness to be trained.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and lift light to moderate loads.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Pallet Truck Operator license (e.g., PPT, LLOP) or equivalent certification.
- Previous experience in a logistics or warehouse environment.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning and inventory systems.
