Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Foreign Language Teacher proficient in Spanish, French, or Mandarin to join our vibrant academic community. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced educator to make a significant impact on students’ linguistic and cultural development. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, developing curriculum, and fostering a positive learning environment. A generous relocation package is provided for candidates joining us from outside the Moose Jaw area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Spanish, French, or Mandarin language courses for various age groups.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and cultural understanding.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate language learning across the curriculum and participate in school-wide activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and progress.
- Stay current with best practices in language education and incorporate innovative teaching methodologies.
Required Skills
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish, French, or Mandarin.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Language, or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching foreign languages to diverse student populations.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to create an engaging learning atmosphere.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the nuances of language acquisition.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Language Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
- Certification in the target language (e.g., DELE, DALF, HSK, or similar).
- Experience teaching in an international school setting or with diverse student populations.
- Proficiency in more than one of the specified foreign languages (Spanish, French, Mandarin).
