Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and dependable Bus Depot Sweeper to join our overnight operations team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our transit vehicles, contributing to a positive experience for our passengers and a healthy working environment for our staff. This is an entry-level position and full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of bus interiors.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Clean and sanitize seats, windows, and all high-touch surfaces.
- Report any damage, maintenance issues, or safety hazards observed during cleaning.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use cleaning equipment and chemicals properly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when reordering is necessary.
- Assist with general depot tidiness and organization as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliability and punctuality for overnight shifts.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs), and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- No prior experience required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning or custodial role (even if informal).
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
