Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Instructional Designer to join our dynamic Learning & Development team in Camden Town. This entry-level role is perfect for someone passionate about education technology and creating engaging learning experiences, eager to kickstart their career in instructional design. You will be instrumental in supporting senior instructional designers in developing and delivering high-quality educational content across various platforms. Full training and mentorship will be provided to help you grow your skills and become a valuable asset to our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior instructional designers in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Draft engaging and effective learning content, including scripts, storyboards, and interactive exercises.
- Support the creation of multimedia assets (e.g., graphics, audio, video) for learning modules.
- Utilize authoring tools and learning technologies to build and update online courses.
- Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure all learning materials meet defined standards and accessibility guidelines.
- Contribute to project planning and execution, helping to meet deadlines and project goals.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in instructional design and educational technology.
Required Skills
- Foundational understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High degree of proactivity, eagerness to learn, and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Communications, English, or a related field.
- Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, or Adobe Captivate.
- Experience creating simple multimedia content (e.g., basic video editing, graphic design).
- A portfolio showcasing academic or personal projects related to instructional design or content creation (e.g., sample lessons, presentations, short videos).
