Job Description
GreenEarth Recycling Solutions is seeking a dedicated E-Waste Dismantler / Recycler to join our hands-on team at our indoor facility in Port Elgin. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to environmental sustainability. You will be responsible for disassembling various electronic devices, sorting components, and preparing materials for further recycling processes. Full training will be provided to ensure you are proficient in all aspects of the role, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in recycling.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely dismantle electronic waste (e.g., computers, televisions, mobile devices) into constituent components using hand and power tools.
- Sort various materials (plastics, metals, circuit boards, batteries) into designated containers for proper recycling.
- Operate balers, shredders, or other machinery as required, after receiving appropriate training.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Identify and segregate hazardous materials for special handling and disposal.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient processing workflows.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform manual tasks requiring bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in dismantling and sorting tasks.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace safety procedures.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn how to use various tools.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Punctuality and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or general labor role.
- Knowledge of basic electronic components or willingness to learn.
- Forklift certification (an asset, but not required for initial hiring).
- First Aid/CPR certification.
