Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Equipment Delivery & Setup Driver to join our growing team in Basingstoke. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery, installation, and basic setup of medical equipment, with a primary focus on hospital beds, to various healthcare facilities and private residences. This position requires a responsible individual with excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to patient dignity, and the ability to perform light technical setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport medical equipment, including hospital beds, to designated locations.
- Install and set up medical equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and client specifications.
- Provide basic operational instructions to staff or patients on the use of delivered equipment.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and ensure the company vehicle is well-maintained and clean.
- Complete all necessary delivery paperwork, logs, and digital documentation accurately.
- Liaise professionally with hospital staff, care providers, and patients.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including manual handling procedures.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues on-site and escalate complex problems as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving License (Category B) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 12 months professional driving experience.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy medical equipment (e.g., hospital beds) with assistance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic technical aptitude for equipment assembly and setup.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- DBS check will be required upon successful offer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical logistics, delivery services, or a similar field.
- Previous experience with medical equipment handling or installation.
- Customer service experience in a healthcare or sensitive environment.
- Manual handling training certification.
