Job Description

The University of Southern Queensland is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Alumni Relations Coordinator to join our Advancement and Engagement team. This pivotal role is responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategies to engage USQ’s global alumni community. You will play a key role in fostering a lifelong connection between alumni and the university, contributing to events, communications, and initiatives that strengthen our alumni network and support the university’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate alumni engagement events, including reunions, networking functions, and professional development sessions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of alumni communication strategies, including newsletters, social media content, and website updates.
  • Maintain and update the alumni database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Respond to alumni inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
  • Support the cultivation of alumni volunteers and mentors.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to identify opportunities for alumni involvement and support.
  • Prepare reports on alumni engagement metrics and activities.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and database management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in alumni relations, community engagement, non-profit management, or event coordination.
  • Experience with content creation for digital platforms.
  • Understanding of the higher education sector.
