Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and energetic Bread Delivery Helper to join our night shift team in Glenorchy. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for consistent work with competitive pay, even if you have no prior experience in delivery. As a Bread Delivery Helper, you will be crucial in ensuring our freshly baked bread and bakery products reach our customers and retail partners across the region promptly and efficiently. You will assist our drivers, handle products with care, and maintain our high standards of service. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the careful loading and unloading of fresh bread and other bakery products onto delivery vehicles.
- Accompany drivers on established night delivery routes to various retail outlets and customers.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products, checking orders against manifests.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the delivery area and assist with vehicle tidiness.
- Work efficiently and safely as part of a team during night shifts.
- Report any discrepancies or issues encountered during deliveries.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistent night shifts.
- Physical fitness to lift, carry, and move bakery items (up to 20kg).
- Strong sense of reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- A valid 'C' class driver's license is preferred, though not strictly required if you can reliably get to and from our Glenorchy bakery for night shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a delivery, logistics, or warehousing role (even if informal).
- Basic knowledge of the Glenorchy and greater Hobart area.
- A current food handling certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
