Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Surgical Instrument Sterilization Tech to join our essential back-office team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This position is vital to patient safety and the smooth operation of our surgical departments. Full training will be provided to ensure you meet all regulatory and hospital standards. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and decontaminate soiled surgical instruments and equipment.
- Inspect instruments for functionality and cleanliness, identifying any damaged items.
- Prepare instrument trays for sterilization according to established protocols and surgeon preference cards.
- Operate and monitor various sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, ensuring proper parameters are met.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and inventory.
- Distribute sterile instruments and equipment to operating rooms and other hospital departments.
- Adhere strictly to infection control policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in sterile processing.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow strict protocols and procedures accurately.
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Commitment to patient safety and infection control.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or sterile processing environment.
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (e.g., CRCST, CBSPD).
