Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Product Designer to join our innovative team in Aberdeen. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the user experience and visual design of our digital products, ranging from complex industrial software to internal operational tools. You will work collaboratively with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define, design, and deliver intuitive and effective solutions that meet both user needs and business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to products that make a real difference in critical industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for digital products, from concept to launch.
  • Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs and pain points.
  • Translate user research insights into wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers to define product requirements and roadmaps.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and proper implementation.
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback, user testing, and data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across products.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or similar role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital design projects and your design process.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
  • Ability to create wireframes, user flows, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Experience designing for complex enterprise software or industrial applications.
  • Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better understand technical constraints.
  • Experience contributing to or managing design systems.
  • Ability to mentor junior designers and share knowledge.
