Key Responsibilities

  • Determine the appropriate level of response and dispatch ambulance resources efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of all calls and dispatched units using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
  • Communicate effectively with ambulance crews, police, fire services, and other emergency personnel.
  • Remain calm and composed under pressure, demonstrating resilience and compassion.
  • Adhere to all SA Ambulance Service policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to listen actively and gather information efficiently.
  • Exceptional ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Basic computer literacy and typing skills.
