Job Description
Are you ready to join a high-energy team and play a vital role in bringing spectacular events to life? Freeman is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals for the Marquee Rigger Helper position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, has a strong work ethic, and is eager to learn the ropes of event rigging. As a Marquee Rigger Helper, you will assist our experienced rigging crews in the safe and efficient installation and dismantling of rigging equipment for various events, including trade shows, conferences, and corporate gatherings. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training to help you develop valuable skills in a fast-paced and exciting industry. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced riggers in the safe installation and dismantling of rigging equipment such as motors, trusses, and lighting fixtures.
- Load and unload equipment from trucks and transport it to the job site.
- Organize and prepare rigging equipment for use, ensuring all components are accounted for and in good working order.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on job sites.
- Learn and understand basic rigging techniques, knots, and hardware.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support event production needs.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Comfortable working at heights (with proper safety training and equipment).
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites in the Orlando area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical labor role (e.g., construction, warehouse, landscaping) is a plus but not required.
- Experience with basic hand and power tools.
- OSHA 10 certification (will be provided if not already held).
