Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and organised individual to join our team in Mackay as an Afternoon Dispatcher for casual day shifts. In this role, you will be crucial in coordinating and managing the efficient flow of goods, ensuring timely deliveries and exceptional service. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail looking for flexible afternoon work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch drivers and vehicles for local deliveries and collections.
- Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to customers and internal teams.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and warehouse staff.
- Manage incoming calls and emails related to dispatch operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities and incidents.
- Assist with route planning and optimisation to enhance efficiency.
- Problem-solve any unexpected issues or delays during shifts.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
