Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Inventory Planner to join our supply chain team in Hervey Bay. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for optimising inventory levels for a range of FMCG products, ensuring product availability while minimising holding costs. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for supply chain and logistics to develop their career within a leading retail group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to meet demand forecasts and business objectives.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identify potential stockouts or overstock situations, and take corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and efficient stock movement.
  • Analyse sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to refine forecasting models.
  • Manage product lifecycles, including new product introductions and end-of-life planning.
  • Generate reports on inventory performance, stock turns, and aged inventory.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in inventory management, supply chain, or a related field, preferably within the FMCG sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of demand planning and forecasting techniques.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CSCP or CPIM).
