Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Part-time Poultry Farm Hand to join our team in Tamworth. This role offers stable day work hours and weekly pay, making it ideal for individuals looking for consistent part-time employment. As a Farm Hand, you will be crucial in maintaining the health and welfare of our flocks, ensuring the smooth operation of daily farm activities, and contributing to a clean and safe environment. No prior experience in poultry farming is required as full training will be provided to the right candidate with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. This is an on-site position based at our Tamworth farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor flock health and behaviour, reporting any issues promptly to supervisors.
- Perform daily feeding and watering routines for poultry.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of poultry sheds and equipment.
- Collect eggs carefully and prepare them for processing (where applicable).
- Assist with bird movement, vaccination, and general animal husbandry tasks.
- Operate basic farm machinery and equipment safely after training.
- Follow all biosecurity protocols and safety guidelines diligently.
- Contribute to general farm maintenance and tidiness.
- Work collaboratively with the farm team to achieve operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
- Basic understanding of animal welfare principles (or willingness to learn).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a farm or agricultural setting is a plus, but not essential.
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
