Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Environmental Auditor with a strong focus on compliance to join our growing team in Shepparton. This role is pivotal in ensuring our clients meet their regulatory obligations and uphold best practice environmental standards. The successful candidate will conduct comprehensive environmental audits, identify areas of non-compliance, develop corrective action plans, and provide expert advice on environmental regulations and management systems. You will work across diverse sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and local government, contributing directly to environmental protection and sustainability initiatives within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct environmental audits in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 14001) and regulatory requirements.
- Assess client operations for compliance with environmental legislation, licenses, and permits.
- Identify non-conformities, risks, and opportunities for improvement in environmental performance.
- Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on environmental management systems, compliance strategies, and regulatory interpretations.
- Liaise effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
- Stay current with evolving environmental legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of audit methodologies and tools.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss audit outcomes and provide ongoing support.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental auditing or compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian and Victorian environmental legislation and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and regulatory documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in environmental management or auditing.
- Certification as an Environmental Auditor (e.g., RABQSA, Exemplar Global).
- Experience with ISO 14001 environmental management systems implementation and auditing.
- Familiarity with environmental issues specific to regional Victoria.
- Experience in various industrial sectors (e.g., waste management, water treatment, agriculture, manufacturing).
