Job Description
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking for a truly rewarding career? Home Instead Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking empathetic Live-in Carers to provide exceptional 24/7 support to our clients within their own homes. This unique role involves living with a client for a period, offering companionship, personal care, home help, and medication support, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life. You will become an integral part of their daily routine, building a trusted relationship and ensuring their comfort and well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and general support around the home.
- Manage and administer medication according to care plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as required.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, laundry, and maintain a tidy living environment.
- Offer companionship, engage in meaningful activities, and provide emotional support.
- Accompany clients to appointments or social outings.
- Monitor client's health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and client progress.
- Respect client's privacy, dignity, and personal choices at all times.
Required Skills

- Reliability, patience, and a compassionate nature.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding towards the needs of older adults.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- A clean UK driving license and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential for all placements).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care-giving role (professional or personal).
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Experience with dementia care or other specific health conditions.
- First Aid certification.
