Job Description

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking for a truly rewarding career? Home Instead Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking empathetic Live-in Carers to provide exceptional 24/7 support to our clients within their own homes. This unique role involves living with a client for a period, offering companionship, personal care, home help, and medication support, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life. You will become an integral part of their daily routine, building a trusted relationship and ensuring their comfort and well-being. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and general support around the home.
  • Manage and administer medication according to care plans.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as required.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, laundry, and maintain a tidy living environment.
  • Offer companionship, engage in meaningful activities, and provide emotional support.
  • Accompany clients to appointments or social outings.
  • Monitor client's health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and client progress.
  • Respect client's privacy, dignity, and personal choices at all times.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, patience, and a compassionate nature.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding towards the needs of older adults.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • A clean UK driving license and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential for all placements).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care-giving role (professional or personal).
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience with dementia care or other specific health conditions.
  • First Aid certification.
