Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Spa & Sauna Technician – Specialist Service to join our dynamic team at Novotel Wollongong Northbeach. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive maintenance, repair, and operational oversight of all spa and sauna facilities, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. This position requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing an unparalleled wellness experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all spa, sauna, steam room, and associated pool equipment.
- Conduct daily inspections of facilities to ensure optimal operating conditions, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, performing minor repairs and coordinating with external specialists for complex problems.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of spare parts.
- Ensure all water treatment systems, temperature controls, and air quality systems are functioning correctly.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and protocols.
- Provide technical support and guidance to spa operational staff as needed.
- Assist in the procurement of necessary equipment and supplies, managing stock levels efficiently.
- Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and guest concerns with professionalism.
Required Skills
- Proven technical aptitude and practical experience in maintenance or trades.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar maintenance role within a hospitality, spa, or leisure environment.
- Relevant trade qualification or certification (e.g., electrical, plumbing, pool operations).
- Familiarity with various spa and sauna equipment brands and technologies.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian health and safety regulations.
