Job Description

Join Day & Ross as a Drive-Away Vehicle Delivery Driver and take the wheel in transporting a variety of vehicles across Canada. This crucial role involves safely and efficiently delivering vehicles from one location to another, often requiring cross-country travel. You will operate independently, managing your routes, schedules, and vehicle care, while maintaining clear communication with our dispatch team. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced drivers who enjoy the open road and a high degree of autonomy in their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and punctually transport various types of vehicles (cars, trucks, vans) across designated Canadian routes.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, documenting any existing damage or issues.
  • Ensure all vehicle documentation, including bills of lading and condition reports, is accurately completed and submitted.
  • Adhere strictly to all provincial and federal traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with dispatch regarding trip progress, potential delays, and vehicle status.
  • Plan and manage travel logistics, including fuel stops, accommodation, and efficient routing.
  • Represent Day & Ross professionally at pick-up and drop-off locations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized driving environment.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license for the province of Alberta.
  • Clean driving abstract/record.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate long distances and varying road conditions.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • High degree of reliability, independence, and accountability.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics to identify potential issues.
  • Ability to use GPS and basic navigation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience, preferably in long-haul or delivery roles.
  • Familiarity with cross-country routes within Canada.
  • Experience with vehicle condition reporting and documentation.
  • Proficiency with smartphone applications for logistics and communication.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.
