Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and hardworking Harvest Assistants to join our team in Launceston, Tasmania, for seasonal harvesting activities. This role is crucial to our operations, ensuring our fresh produce is harvested efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the agricultural sector and is particularly suitable for those requiring 88-day visa sign-off. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary – just a willingness to learn and work outdoors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully harvest various fruits and vegetables by hand or with simple tools.
- Sort and pack produce according to quality specifications and company standards.
- Operate basic farm machinery or equipment under supervision, if required.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene protocols on the farm.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily harvesting targets.
- Report any issues with produce quality or equipment to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (sun, rain, cold).
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- A strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic English comprehension for safety instructions and team communication.
