Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated WFH Data Manager to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role combines technical data management expertise with essential administrative oversight, ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and security of our critical data assets. You will be responsible for developing and implementing data management strategies, overseeing data quality initiatives, and providing administrative support for data-related projects and reporting. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a leading financial institution from your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain data management policies and procedures.
- Oversee data quality initiatives, including data cleansing, validation, and enrichment processes.
- Manage data lifecycles, ensuring proper data archiving, retention, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
- Administer data access controls and security protocols to protect sensitive information.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to define data requirements and solutions.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive data documentation, including data dictionaries and metadata.
- Provide administrative support for data projects, including scheduling, reporting, and resource tracking.
- Monitor data systems for performance issues and ensure data availability and reliability.
- Train and support team members on data governance best practices and tools.
- Prepare regular reports on data quality, data usage, and data management activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in data management, data governance, or data analysis.
- Strong understanding of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and query languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and implement data policies and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Project management experience, particularly in data-related initiatives.
- Certification in data management or relevant technical fields.
