Job Description
Are you passionate about technology and eager to kickstart your career in IT infrastructure? Woolworths Group is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Systems Administration Intern to join our Corporate IT team in Goulburn. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with little to no prior professional experience to gain hands-on training and foundational knowledge in systems administration within a large, dynamic corporate environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning the ropes of managing and maintaining essential IT systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior systems administrators with daily operational tasks and routine maintenance.
- Support the monitoring of system performance, network activity, and security alerts.
- Help troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues for internal users.
- Participate in the deployment and configuration of new systems and applications under supervision.
- Contribute to documentation of IT processes, configurations, and best practices.
- Learn about server management, virtualization, network protocols, and data backup procedures.
- Engage with various IT teams to understand cross-functional dependencies and collaboration.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in Information Technology, particularly systems administration and networking.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive learning attitude.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with command-line interfaces.
- Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is a plus but not required.
