Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Aviation Parts Courier to join our dynamic team in Kingston, Jamaica. This is a fast-paced and critical role responsible for the timely and secure transportation of essential aviation parts and components. The successful candidate will possess an impeccable driving record, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and security in accordance with aviation regulations. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients’ aviation activities by providing rapid response logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute timely pick-up and delivery of aviation parts to and from various locations, including airports, hangars, and client facilities.
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company driving policies.
- Verify accuracy of shipment contents against manifests and ensure proper documentation is completed for all deliveries.
- Handle sensitive and high-value aviation components with extreme care to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all security protocols, customs procedures, and aviation safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and internal teams regarding delivery status and potential delays.
- Be available for urgent and ad-hoc delivery requests, which may include irregular hours or on-call duties.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican Driver's License (General or greater classification).
- Impeccable driving record with no major violations in the past 5 years.
- Proven ability to navigate complex routes and manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) regularly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean criminal record and ability to pass extensive background checks for airport access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in courier, logistics, or transportation, particularly with time-sensitive or high-value goods.
- Familiarity with Kingston's road network and surrounding areas.
- Knowledge of basic aviation terminology or parts handling.
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) or route optimization software.
