Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Dispatch Runner to join our busy warehouse team in Laverton North. This is an ongoing, full-time position that requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to ensuring the smooth flow of goods. As a Dispatch Runner, you will be a crucial link in our logistics chain, responsible for moving items efficiently within the warehouse and preparing them for dispatch. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently pick and move goods within the warehouse according to dispatch lists and instructions.
- Verify the accuracy of items picked against dispatch documentation.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks as required.
- Sort and stage outgoing freight for specific routes and carriers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, forklift operators, and other warehouse staff.
- Report any discrepancies or damage to supervisors promptly.
- Perform general warehouse duties as needed to support operations.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move packages up to 20kg.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (e.g., as a picker, packer, or general hand).
- Current forklift license (LF or LO) is a bonus but not essential.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
