Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Acoustic Consultant to join our dynamic engineering firm in Blacktown. This role is crucial in providing expert advice and solutions across a wide range of projects, including infrastructure, industrial, and urban development. You will be responsible for conducting acoustic assessments, developing noise control strategies, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in acoustics, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Conducting detailed noise and vibration surveys and assessments for various projects.
- Developing comprehensive acoustic models and predictions using specialized software.
- Designing and recommending practical and cost-effective noise control solutions.
- Preparing technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and regulatory bodies.
- Ensuring project compliance with Australian and international acoustic standards and guidelines.
- Liaising with clients, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver project objectives.
- Providing expert advice on acoustic design and mitigation strategies from concept to completion.
- Participating in business development activities and preparing bids for new projects.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in acoustic consulting.
- Proficiency with acoustic modeling software (e.g., SoundPLAN, CadnaA).
- Strong understanding of Australian acoustic standards and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Acoustics or Noise Control Engineering.
- Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., Engineers Australia, Australian Acoustical Society).
- Experience with architectural acoustics and building services noise control.
- Proven track record in client management and business development.
