Job Description
Bose Corporation is seeking a talented and motivated Acoustic Engineer to join our innovative team in Worcester, MA. Key Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, and optimize acoustic components and systems for various Bose products, including headphones, speakers, and automotive audio.
- Conduct comprehensive acoustic measurements and characterization of transducers, enclosures, and complete audio systems in an anechoic chamber and other testing environments.
- Analyze test data, interpret results, and provide clear recommendations for design improvements and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing partners.
- Develop and implement innovative acoustic solutions to meet stringent performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Document design specifications, test procedures, and performance reports thoroughly.
- Stay abreast of new acoustic technologies, materials, and measurement techniques.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in acoustic design, measurement, or analysis.
- Proficiency with acoustic simulation software (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS, Klippel dB-LAB).
- Experience with acoustic measurement systems and equipment (e.g., Audio Precision, B&K Pulse, SoundCheck).
- Solid understanding of fundamental acoustic principles, psychoacoustics, and digital signal processing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
- Experience in consumer audio product development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB or Python for data analysis and automation.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance for audio devices (e.g., CE, FCC).
