Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Acoustic Engineer to join our growing team in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. This is a unique opportunity for individuals who require international sponsorship to work in Canada. The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of projects, applying principles of acoustics, noise control, and vibration engineering to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, engaging with clients and collaborating with other engineers to assess, design, and implement acoustic solutions across various industries including infrastructure, buildings, and environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct noise and vibration surveys, measurements, and assessments for various projects.
- Analyze acoustic data and develop predictive models for noise propagation.
- Design and recommend noise control solutions for architectural, environmental, and industrial applications.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to integrate acoustic designs into overall project plans.
- Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance related to noise and vibration.
- Participate in site visits and project meetings as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with acoustic modeling software (e.g., CadnaA, ODEON, INSUL).
- Strong understanding of acoustic principles, noise control, and vibration analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Eligibility for professional engineering registration in Canada (P.Eng. or EIT status).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Acoustics or a related specialization.
- Previous experience in an acoustical consulting environment.
- Familiarity with Canadian noise regulations and standards.
- Experience with building acoustics, environmental noise, or industrial noise control.
- Fluency in French is an asset.
