Job Description
Join the Australia Post team in Whyalla as an Afternoon Sorter! This casual role is perfect for individuals looking for flexible work hours in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for accurately sorting mail and parcels, ensuring they reach their correct destinations efficiently. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Full training will be provided to successful candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort incoming and outgoing mail and parcels by destination code or delivery route.
- Operate sorting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Lift, push, and move mailbags, trays, and parcels, adhering to manual handling guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily processing targets.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand sorting instructions.
- Good physical fitness for lifting and repetitive tasks (up to 15kg).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or mail sorting environment is a plus but not essential.
- Knowledge of local geography (Whyalla and surrounding areas) is beneficial.
