Job Description

GardaWorld is seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our team as a Traffic Warden / Control Officer in Mississauga, Ontario. This role offers the unique opportunity for independent work while contributing significantly to public safety and urban order. As a Traffic Warden, you will be responsible for enforcing parking regulations, managing traffic flow in designated areas, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians. This position requires excellent observational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to interact professionally with the public in various situations. Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to enforce parking regulations.
  • Identify and issue citations for parking violations, including but not limited to expired meters, illegal parking, and obstructed fire lanes.
  • Provide information and directions to the public regarding parking regulations and local amenities.
  • Monitor and manage traffic flow during peak hours, special events, or emergencies as directed.
  • Assist in identifying and reporting abandoned vehicles.
  • Respond to public inquiries and complaints with professionalism and clarity.
  • Maintain accurate records of violations and actions taken.
  • Operate and maintain handheld devices for issuing citations and managing data.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and municipal authorities as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Physical fitness to walk and stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and handheld device operation.
  • Ability to handle confrontational situations calmly and professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in security, enforcement, customer service, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of local traffic bylaws and regulations.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Bilingualism (e.g., French, Punjabi, Urdu, Mandarin given Mississauga's diversity) is an asset.
