Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Airfield Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of airfield operations at Norwich Airport. This critical role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the airfield environment, including runways, taxiways, aprons, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead a team, implement operational policies, and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the airfield, ensuring compliance with EASA regulations, CAA requirements, and local operating procedures.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the airfield operations team, fostering a culture of safety and professionalism.
- Conduct regular airfield inspections, identifying and reporting any hazards, defects, or non-compliance issues.
- Coordinate with air traffic control, airlines, ground handling, and emergency services for seamless operations.
- Develop and implement operational plans, procedures, and contingency plans for various scenarios, including adverse weather and emergencies.
- Manage airfield operational resources, including equipment and personnel scheduling.
- Oversee wildlife hazard management programs and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention initiatives.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure effective communication and information flow within the airfield operational framework.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the airport's safety management system (SMS).
Required Skills
- Proven experience in airfield operations management within a commercial airport environment.
- Thorough knowledge of EASA regulations, CAA requirements, and ICAO standards related to airfield operations.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in incident management and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational setting.
- Valid UK driving license.
