Job Description
Are you looking for an entry-level opportunity to kickstart your career in construction? Kier Group in Swindon is seeking motivated and enthusiastic General Labourers to join our dynamic construction teams. No prior experience is required – we believe in investing in our people and will provide comprehensive on-the-job training to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., bricklayers, carpenters, electricians) with various tasks on site.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up barriers.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Follow instructions from site managers and supervisors to complete tasks as assigned.
- Support the team in ensuring project timelines are met and quality standards are maintained.
Required Skills
- Eagerness to learn and a positive can-do attitude.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to understand and follow instructions.
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid CSCS card (we can help you obtain this if you don't have one).
- Previous experience in an outdoor or physically demanding role.
- Familiarity with basic construction tools (beneficial but not essential).
