Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in a vital industry? CityFibre is offering an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Cable Puller / Installer. This entry-level position is perfect for motivated individuals with no prior experience in cabling or telecommunications. You will learn hands-on how to install, maintain, and connect cutting-edge fibre optic cables, contributing directly to the UK’s digital revolution. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with the installation of fibre optic cables in various environments (underground, overhead, internal).
- Prepare work sites, including setting up safety barriers and organizing tools and materials.
- Pull and route cables according to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Perform basic fault-finding and cable maintenance tasks under supervision.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Required Skills
- A strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
- Basic physical fitness for manual labor, including lifting and working in varied environments.
- Commitment to health and safety practices.
- Excellent time management and reliability.
- Full valid UK driving license (essential for site travel).
Preferred Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Math.
- Any previous experience in a manual labor, construction, or outdoor role.
- A general interest in technology or telecommunications.
